Our mission
is to identify and support philanthropic activities that improve people's health and enhance the osteopathic profession.
Our Vision
is to enrich global health by promoting osteopathic medicine. What is AOF?
For over 60-Years, the American Osteopathic Foundation (AOF) has served the profession as the philanthropic arm of the American Osteopathic Association. Contributions to the AOF benefit thousands of osteopathic medical professionals through grants, scholarships, and awards to students, physicians, researchers, and osteopathic programs. The AOF is committed to supporting osteopathic medical education, research and promotion of the profession. Since our inception, the AOF has been supporting programs and initiatives that align with our mission and help us move toward achieving our vision.
Who is the AOF?
The AOF is made up of osteopathic physicians, industry partners, affiliates, and others interested in advancing osteopathic medicine. AOF supporters share a common objective - to create futures in osteopathic medicine. By giving to the AOF, donors commit financially to AOF's programs, which in turn help students grow into outstanding osteopathic physicians and osteopathic physicians give their patients the best care possible.
How does the AOF operate?
The AOF is guided by a Board of Directors, five standing committees, and adhoc committees as needed. The Board oversee all policies, programs, and operations of the AOF. The Board is comprised of seventeen Directors, with two of those being non-voting Student members. At least eight of the voting members must be osteopathic physicians. The other Directors are representatives from industry or other organizations that support the osteopathic profession and AOF's mission.
