| Merck Outstanding Resident of the Year Award
The recipients of the four $5,000 awards will be osteopathic physicians currently in their 2nd through last year of an AOA approved residency program who go above and beyond to bring a sense of pride to the osteopathic profession. The chosen recipients will have a strong commitment to osteopathic philosophy, display compassion and commitment to patient care, have strong leadership skills, as well as a commitment to education and enrichment of self and others.

| Merck/Schering-Plough CAP Excellence Award - Physician of the Year
This award is one of the two new CAPEX Awards offered by the AOF. It honors those who have implemented a process for quality improvement, identified through participation in the CAP (AOA's Clinical Assessment Program), which has shown to improve the care of patients with Diabetes or Coronary Artery Disease.

The four $5,000 Pfizer “Fit for Life” Awards were established to reward excellence in the field of health and wellness. They recognize those who have made significant advancements in health care by utilizing an innovative approach toward total wellness in the following areas: 1. nutrition, 2. smoking cessation, 3. obesity, or 4. physical fitness.
